Introduction:

The rapid deployment of smart meters, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and intelligent grid technologies has led to an unprecedented volume of energy consumption data. To unlock the full potential of this data, utilities require robust Meter Data Management (MDM) systems that serve as the central platform for collecting, validating, storing, and analyzing meter data.

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of MDM systems, their architecture, and their critical role in modern utility operations. It explores how MDM integrates with other enterprise systems—such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), Billing, Outage Management Systems (OMS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

A strong focus is placed on Data Validation, Estimation, and Editing (VEE) processes, which are essential for maintaining accurate, reliable, and compliant data streams. Participants will learn how to configure VEE rules, detect anomalies, and apply corrective methods for incomplete or inaccurate meter reads.

By the end of the course, participants will have the skills and insights required to optimize MDM systems, improve data-driven decision-making, strengthen revenue assurance, and support the digital transformation of utilities.

Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the architecture, functions, and role of MDM in utility ecosystems.
• Configure and integrate MDM with AMI, CIS, billing, and outage management systems.
• Apply data validation, estimation, and editing (VEE) techniques to ensure meter data quality.
• Use analytics tools to generate actionable insights from meter data.
• Improve operational efficiency, revenue assurance, and customer service through MDM-enabled processes.
• Comply with regulatory, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements.

IN HOUSE AND ONLINE TRAINING

in

While both In-House and Online training can present with cost-effectiveness and time-efficacy, there are some very specific differences between in-house courses and those based online.
The demand for additional courses by individuals or groups of people is increasing. Still, it depends entirely on the preferences of a person what type of training he or she wants to receive. Online courses and in-house training carry some similarities but they are considered to exhibit some very pivotal differences too. Despite that, both types of learning can be really beneficial for attendees.
